Jin is gone. He's not dead, but he went to Korea for 3 years to join the army. Korea is on my shit list for taking my friend. Fuck you son of bitchin' Korea! 3 years! That's a serious chunk of change!

Man, I'm gonna miss that cat - one of the funniest, chivalrous, and positive friends I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His spirit is seemingly indestructible- he had a string of horrible luck as he was about to leave (just random shit that added insult to injury to the fact that he already has to leave his friends and join the army). Turns out that he had a fucked up English teacher who was completely indifferent to his plight of HAVING to pass the class so he could graduate before his Army stint. This teacher had NO office hours, NO email address and was not constructive in his grading. Anxious to go on vacation, he graded Jin's final paper in 1 minute- said "this is unclear- I'll give you a 13 out of 20". Jin needed a 70% to pass the class and graduate- the teacher had him at 66%... he was also adamant about not letting him do extra credit or anything because he didn't want it to cut into his vacation time! This guy should not be teaching! What has Jin learned? That this guy is an apathetic Asshole? The deans were equally as bad, well... to make a long story short - Jin fought it out and demanded a meeting between the teacher, dean and him to work out some compromise...

He said to me, "Man, you know how Americans say shit happens for a reason? Maybe that means that I HAVE to come back here to finish school..."

I agreed, but felt sad because I knew this is the end of a chapter. Watching him wave goodbye from a distance reminded me of the end of a DVD chapter - a stark dividing line between the great times we had in the past and the unknown future...
Some shit I'll miss about Jin:
How he claps and says "whooa! I want to EAT her, that's all!" after seeing a beautiful girl/ His use of the word "butts" instead of butt cheeks/How he skillfully ends akward silences/His theories on life/His genuine concern for others before himself...man there are way more- if you have any Jin stories- leave em in the comments....
